The last couple of years have been a bit of a rollercoaster for What’s Fresh.
My name is Ross and I am the oldest of three brothers at Park Farm. After leaving school my younger brothers came home to work alongside dad on the Farm. I decided to take a different route and worked in marketing and then renewable energy. After a few years of working within renewables I decided I wanted to take on a new challenge and dad and I started to piece together a business plan to retail our own milk from the farm.
Then in March 2020, with the world going into lockdown due to COVID, we saw an opportunity to dip a toe in the water and deliver local produce direct to consumers – while in the background we were busy building a new facility to pasteurise and bottle our milk at the farm.
To be honest we did not expect the complexity that followed; Covid, Brexit, shipping delays, energy price hikes… not a great couple of years to start a new business. So there has been literal blood, sweat and tears and a lot more grey hairs all round.
But, we can now finally say that there is light at the end of the tunnel and our new venture is ready to launch. We have hundreds of people to thank for their help along the way and they are all due a pint (of milk of course!) for their efforts.
