One Whole Year of Delivering Park Farm Milk to Doorsteps in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire

Scottish Milk from Park Farm Family Delivered by What's Fresh

Here at What’s Fresh, we are celebrating one whole year of delivering fresh Scottish milk from our family run dairy, Park Farm

When lockdown arrived, we decided to take a leap and retail our own cow’s milk and deliver directly to local people from our farm in East Kilbride. We wanted to share our passion for farming, and great tasting milk with as many local people as possible.

As a family, we chose to build a pasteurising and bottling facility close to our herd, so our Scottish milk travels meters, not miles. Being sustainable and as environmentally friendly as possible is very important to us. We bottle our milk in one-litre glass bottles which are cleaned, sterilised and filled again with milk from cows a stone’s throw away.

Over the last year your support and feedback has been overwhelming. By choosing to order from What’s Fresh you have allowed us share our passion for dairy farming and grow our business in Scotland.

With that we say a huge THANK YOU from everyone at What’s Fresh and Park Farm for making our milk dreams come true.

March 2020 – Where it all began…

Ross Neilson and dad Hugh in the new milk production dairy at Park Farm, Auldhouse

The last couple of years have been a bit of a rollercoaster for What’s Fresh.

My name is Ross and I am the oldest of three brothers at Park Farm. After leaving school my younger brothers came home to work alongside dad on the Farm. I decided to take a different route and worked in marketing and then renewable energy. After a few years of working within renewables I decided I wanted to take on a new challenge and dad and I started to piece together a business plan to retail our own milk from the farm.

Then in March 2020, with the world going into lockdown due to COVID, we saw an opportunity to dip a toe in the water and deliver local produce direct to consumers – while in the background we were busy building a new facility to pasteurise and bottle our milk at the farm.

To be honest we did not expect the complexity that followed; Covid, Brexit, shipping delays, energy price hikes… not a great couple of years to start a new business. So there has been literal blood, sweat and tears and a lot more grey hairs all round.

But, we can now finally say that there is light at the end of the tunnel and our new venture is ready to launch. We have hundreds of people to thank for their help along the way and they are all due a pint (of milk of course!) for their efforts.
